"Celebrate Spring" edition of "Ladies' Night" March 21, 2013

We've been easing into 2013 with a pair of low-key shopping days-into-evenings as our series, "Ladies' Night: The Maria Luisa Way" continues. How much fun was it to see everyone on Valentine's Day eve? The day included special promotions, discounts, some prizes and refreshments. It was great to see everyone shopping for those they love - themselves or others! This month, we offer a "Celebrate Spring" edition of "Ladies' Night," which will run from 5 to 8:30 p.m. March 21. Welcome spring with friends at Maria Luisa boutique and ML Gifts & Accessories. Festivities will be ongoing throughout the day, with special offers from opening through the evening with our trademark light food and spirits. Go Barefoot

As you probably know, we at Maria Luisa are big supporters of One Day Without Shoes, an awareness campaign that asks people to go barefoot in recognition of those around the world who can't afford shoes. Stay tuned for details of our April 16 activities - always tied to our TOMS footwear collection - but why not consider participating next month? Get sponsors, toss off the shoes and donate funds to a local organization; we here at Maria Luisa support our adopted organization, The Nyack Center. Local Arts Index We are excited to continue our sponsorship of a new column featuring local artists on Nyack News and Views. As evidenced by our ongoing support, including exhibitions in ML GIfts & Accessories, we do love and respect the arts, so we are eager to help spread the word about the wealth of talent right in our own backyard. So far, we've partnered with Nyack News and Views to introduce readers to artists including Ed Kirkland, Elaine Schloss and Peter Cheney. Each week, a new artist will share his or her story, including their inspirations. And we hope to soon announce an art show at ML Gifts & Accessories that will feature those artists who have been profiled.

Our popular Ladies Night series continues with us featuring a special promotion on all heart-shaped items or those that feature hearts. And if you find the perfect red item, bead, or any heart-shaped/themed item that you must have, we'll give you 20% off as our Valentine's pre-day gift to you. We have much more planned for February 13 so be on the lookout for an e-blast closer to the event with more details. FEBRUARY SPOTLIGHT: A REVAMPED ML GIFTS & ACCESSORIES

If you were in the shop over the holidays, you saw some major moves at ML Gifts & Accessories, from the relocation of the cash registers to revitalized displays. The "freshening up" continues, particularly in the lower-level gallery space that is better known as our home furnishings and accessories department. Stay tuned as things continue to get better and better. And please let us know your favorite new things, as well, as we love hearing your input.

We have had a number of inquiries about how to secure the space; be assured we are putting the finishing touches on our criteria list and will post it on the website as soon as it's ready. A Winter Sale event the Maria Luisa Way

We'll kick things off Jan. 24 with a decidedly low-key, social shopping event. Stop by both shops, Maria Luisa Boutique and ML Gifts & Accessories, from 3 p.m. to closing for the chance to do some stress-free, post-holiday shopping, while sharing good conversation and even a few refreshments. The evening will be the culmination of a special sale that gets under way Jan. 22. From Tuesday until 3 p.m. Thursday, our customers will receive an additional 10 percent off any item that is already on sale (and there is a lot, from fashions to accessories to decorative items for the home). Then, join us from 3 to 6:30 p.m. Jan. 24 at ML Gifts & Accessories and from 3 to 8 p.m. at Maria Luisa Boutique, when any item already on sale will then be offered at 50 percent off the original price. AND, spend $250 and you'll receive the sought-after Maria Luisa T-shirt, with all purchases of more than $100 receiving a ML market tote. We encourage you to come back and use the tote; when you do use it for any purchase in the next month, we'll give you 10 percent off.
